Gillian Felton is Head of People Development, Engagement and Wellbeing at the National Institute for Health Research Clinical Research Network (NIHR CRN). The NIHR CRN provides the infrastructure across the whole of England that enables high-quality clinical research to take place in the NHS, so that patients can benefit from new and better treatments.
Gillian joined the CRN in November 2008 as Business Manager before moving into the role of Head of Corporate Management. Gillian now heads up the function responsible for ensuring the needs of the people are aligned with the needs of the business. Gillian’s main areas of focus are internal communications, employee wellbeing, leadership development, talent management and organisational development which she passionately believes are key drivers for employee engagement.
Gillian has over 25 years experience working in the HR profession in various roles across a variety of organisations in both the private and public sectors. Gillian’s career started in Learning and Development with a well-known retailer (Asda / Walmart) before moving and specialising in Resourcing within manufacturing, outsourcing and for one of the big four banks (Barclays).
Gillian is alumni of Roffey Park, the internationally renowned leadership institute based in the UK and Singapore. She is also a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, the professional body for HR and people development.
Outside of work Gillian is a dedicated yogi and recently spent time furthering her practice in India at the foothills of the Himalayas.
