Erin Wilson Bakst, Director of Talent Engagement at Opower, has worked across HR functions for a decade in the areas of Program Management, International HR, Executive Education, Recruiting, and Talent Engagement. She has worked in multiple industries including not-for-profit education, multi-level marketing, e-commerce, and high tech. Her experience includes building several leadership rotation programs, moving companies from an anniversary-based review process to a focal process, developing competency frameworks, and front-line manager training. At Opower, Erin introduced the HRBP model and developed the Talent Engagement function. Her team is responsible for talent engagement, HR programs including retention and recognition, employee relations, compliance and immigration. Erin’s passion is enhancing productivity by building talent engagement strategies, efficient operations, and high-performing teams to move companies forward.
Erin holds a Masters of International Management from Thunderbird and an MBA and BS in Management with a Human Resources focus from Virginia Tech, graduating from both schools with honors. She’s an avid traveler and has been to over 45 countries. Erin speaks fluent Spanish and practices yoga regularly.
