Chuck Feltz

CEO

Prior to joining HCI, Chuck led companies ranging in scope from an international startup to over $1B in sales serving the financial services industry (Deluxe Financial Services, Inc.) and education sector (Lifetouch, Inc.). Most recently, he was the president of Korn Ferry International’s Global Products Business, specializing in talent management solutions for many of the world’s largest companies. Before joining Korn Ferry, Chuck formed Feltz & Associates, a management consulting firm specializing in strategy development and alignment based on the book he co-authored, Never By Chance: Aligning People and Strategy Through Intentional Leadership (Wiley 2010).

A consistent operating theme throughout Chuck’s career has been the creation of value through the powerful combination of a vision-driven, well executed strategy with a distinctive customer experience where each employee understands their individual roles in making that happen.

Chad Boydston

Chief Financial Officer
Chad Boydston is the Chief Financial Officer at Human Capital Institute, Inc., leading the company’s finance and accounting functions, including planning, reporting, treasury, and tax. Prior to joining HCI, he served as Senior Vice President, Corporate Controller and Emerging Business CFO of Scripps Networks Interactive from 2006-2014. Boydston previously spent five years as a vice president in the internal audit division at Fifth Third Bancorp and eight years in the assurance and advisory services practice of Deloitte & Touche. He is a graduate of Xavier University.

Kara Schott

Senior Vice President, Online Content and Community Operations
Kara Schott joined HCI in 2012 and serves as the Vice President of Online Content and Community Operations. In her role she provides oversight for the strategy and production of HCI’s online content, research reports, and live conference programming. Additionally, this team works to nurture the relationship between HCI and its external partners to deliver timely, relevant, and thought-provoking solutions to industry stakeholders. Prior to joining HCI Kara served in the financial service and retail industries, and was recognized by J.D. Power & Associates for excellence in customer retention. Kara holds a Bachelor of Science from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business.

Sherrie Niedermeier

Chief Learning Design Officer
Sherrie is the Chief Learning Design Officer for HCI. In this role, she leads the design, development, and delivery of training that enables HR practitioners and organizations to be strategic, high impact partners to the business. Prior to working at HCI, Sherrie worked in Talent Management and Development at Fifth Third Bank, as a senior design consultant with the Richardson Company, and was the managing partner of ARMC, a global human resources consulting firm. Her clients have included Cisco, Microsoft, Google, Yahoo, Time Warner, Bank of America, Fidelity, Wells Fargo, and Blue Cross Blue Shield. Sherrie holds a Master’s in Curriculum and Supervision and is the author of several articles on diversity, inclusion, and ethics. She has also spoken about and led workshops in human-centered design and performance consulting.

Barry Upbin

Senior Vice President, Community Engagement
Barry Upbin joined HCI in 2009 and currently serves as Senior Vice President of Community Engagement. In this role, Mr. Upbin engages with the industry stakeholders to ensure the content and programming produced by HCI align to our mission of "focusing on innovations that help organizations get the maximum impact out of their most valuable asset: their people". Prior to joining HCI, Mr. Upbin served as a Sales Manager for IQPC, an international conference and training company and as a consultant to associations and conference companies looking to expand their presence. Mr. Upbin holds a Bachelor of Science in Management and Marketing from the State University of New York at Albany.
